Behind every well-run household or busy professional life, there is usually someone quietly holding it all together. Someone who knows when the insurance renews, which contractor is coming on Thursday, what is booked for the weekend, and which of the forty unread emails actually need an answer today.
For most people, that person doesn't exist. The admin of a successful life — property, family, travel, staff, paperwork, commitments — lands on the very person whose time is worth the most. A personal PA changes that.
What is a personal PA?
A business VA supports a company. A personal PA supports a person or a household. The work is more private, more varied, and depends far more on discretion and judgement. It's about taking the running of daily life off your desk, so your time and attention go where you want them to.
It's not a replacement for a housekeeper, nanny or estate manager. It's the person who coordinates them, and everything else around them.
Who a personal PA is for
- Busy professionals and business owners whose personal admin competes with their working day
- High-net-worth individuals and families with multiple properties, advisers, staff and commitments to coordinate
- Executives and senior leaders who need a trusted right hand for both work and home
- Households with a lot moving at once — building work, school and activity schedules, travel, events
What household and personal PA support looks like
- Diary and schedule management — appointments, family commitments, calls and meetings kept in one place and free of clashes
- Household management — coordinating cleaners, gardeners, maintenance and tradespeople; booking repairs and following them up
- Bills, renewals and subscriptions — tracking insurance, warranties, memberships and renewals so nothing lapses
- Travel and events — itineraries, bookings, reservations, and the detail that makes trips and occasions run smoothly
- Correspondence and inbox management — personal and professional emails sorted, drafted and actioned
- Document organisation — important paperwork filed, labelled and easy to find when you need it
- Personal errands and research — gifts, suppliers, quotes, and the endless small jobs that eat into an evening
- Liaison with advisers and suppliers — acting as your point of contact so you aren't chasing people yourself
Discretion comes first
When you are handing over personal and household matters, trust is everything. You are sharing diaries, addresses, correspondence and details of how you live. That calls for someone who understands confidentiality as a basic professional standard, not a feature.
I'm happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before we begin, and I work on the principle that what I see in your world stays in your world.
Experience at this level
Before founding Assists VA, I worked as an executive assistant in a concierge-style office supporting C-suite executives and high-net-worth individuals. That meant managing complex diaries, arranging travel and events, and looking after the many details of busy, high-profile lives, in an environment where discretion and accuracy were expected every day.
I've also spent years in other demanding settings, including the NHS, fire and security, and construction, so I'm used to staying calm, organised and dependable when there is a lot at stake.
How it works
Support is remote and flexible, from £35 per hour, with no long-term contract. Some people start with a few hours a week to clear a backlog; others settle into a regular monthly retainer. We start with a free, no-obligation chat about what is taking up your time and what would help most.
If you are a busy professional, a business owner or a family in London or Essex and the running of your life has become a job in itself, I'd be glad to talk it through.
